During a recent episode of his “War Room” podcast, former Trump advisor Steve Bannon predicted there will be a MAGA doomsday if the administration follows through on its decision not to release the Jeffrey Epstein files.
“You’re going to lose 10% of the MAGA movement. If we lose 10% of the MAGA movement right now … we’re gonna lose 40 seats in ’26,” Bannon warned during a live recording Friday. “We’re gonna lose the president,” he added.
With Republicans still in charge of the House and gaining more seats in the Senate, this could have a big impact on how policies get shaped moving forward. In the House, Republicans hold 220 seats compared to the Democrats’ 213. Meanwhile, Republicans have secured 53 seats versus the Democrats’ 47 in the Senate. Republicans’ Senate majority gives them significant influence over legislative priorities.
“They don’t even have to steal it, which they’re gonna try to do in ’28, because they’re gonna sit there and they go … they’ve disheartened the hardest core populist nation that’s always been who governs us,” Bannon added.
MAGA-aligned politicians are seemingly losing influence. First, after the Senate passed President Donald Trump’s ‘big, beautiful bill,’ which drew swift backlash, and more recently, over the administration’s refusal to release the Epstein files. Some of MAGA’s top influencers, including Laura Loomer, Infowars founder Alex Jones, and Nick Fuentes have called for Trump officials’ resignations, including Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino.
