Donald Trump’s upcoming inauguration as the 47th President of the United States has drawn an unprecedented number of Black and Latino celebrities, highlighting a cultural shift in his favor. This weekend’s gala contrasts sharply with the lack of celebrity endorsements during his 2017 inauguration.
High-Profile Attendees Confirmed
Rappers Rod Wave, Kodak Black, and Fivio Foreign are among the well-known performers scheduled to attend. Both have openly supported Trump through appearances and song. Justin Quiles and Anuel AA, two reggaeton musicians who supported Trump in August of last year, are also confirmed to attend.

The celebrations will also include UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones, who joined Trump in celebrating his victory in November. The already impressive roster will be further enhanced by Carrie Underwood’s scheduled performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
Shift in Cultural Perception
Trump’s reputation among celebrities has changed as a result of his growing support from Latino and Black voters. The willingness of celebrities to publicly support him in face of possible criticism is indicative of the change.
Chrisette Michele and other musicians were heavily criticized in 2017 for attending Trump’s inauguration ceremonies. After her performance, Michele struggled in her career and lost an album distribution agreement. On the other hand, this year’s guests saw the occasion as a chance to interact with Trump’s supporters and expand their following.
From Opposition to Support
The “Crypto Ball,” which will be hosted by incoming AI and crypto czar David Sacks, will include rapper Snoop Dogg, who was formerly critical of Trump. Snoop recorded a diss tune against Trump in 2017. But last year, he said he has “nothing but love” for the next president.
Likewise, Waka Flocka Flame, whose political beliefs caused events to be canceled, will now attend the “Presidential Inaugural Ball” of the Black Conservative Federation. In 2024, the group named Trump the “Champion of Black America.”
Young Voter Appeal
A cultural change brought about by Trump’s comeback with young people has made public support for him less divisive. Charlie Kirk of Turning Point USA claims that the demand for MAGA caps on college campuses is proof of Trump’s appeal to younger audiences.
Celebrities now have more freedom to express their support without jeopardizing their careers thanks to this appeal. Because of this, artists increasingly view Trump’s program as a way to connect with culture more broadly.
