The yearly comic convention spotlights Latino artists and creators while celebrating cultural storytelling, particularly through comics. This year, it’s celebrating the 25th anniversary of the comic strip Baldo by Hector Cantú and Carlos Castellanos. Cantú will participate in a panel hosted during the event.
“We are proud to partner with the Latino Cultural Center for the ninth consecutive year to bring together the best Latino comic book creators and fans,” Hector Rodriguez, founder of Texas Latino Comic Con and creator of El Peso Hero, stated in the release. “Celebrating Baldo’s milestone and bringing back lucha libre with Bengali defending the title makes this year’s event a true testament to our community’s creativity and spirit.”
In addition, attendees can enjoy artist workshops and local vendors such as Mundo Mascaras, a business that sells Mexican wrestling masks and lucha-themed accessories.
From the history of Japanese pop culture in Mexico to live lucha libre matches, this year’s convention has a lot on the agenda. View the complete schedule below.
