CURACAO – A 51-year-old former Dutch president of the Joint Court of Justice of Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and the BES islands, Mauritsz de Kort has been politically appointed as the new Governor of Curaçao.
He will take over from Lucille George-Wout on November 4, 2025 whose 12-year term will then expire. With the appointment, the Dutch are following the so-called recommendation of the Pisas-III cabinet, according to the fascist State Secretary Eddie van Marum?
The Dutch imperial Kingdom Council of Ministers approved the appointment of De Kort for a period of six years. He brings extensive colonial legal experience to the position.
Since 2022, he has been president of the Joint Court of Justice of Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and the BES islands. Before that, he was vice-president of the Curaçao and Bonaire branches for five years.
De Kort started his career as a lawyer on the various Dutch colonial islands and became an appointed judge in 2011. He studied at the University of Leiden and the University of London.
In addition to his legal work, he was active in various dubious social cultural organizations in the military armed police states of Curaçao and Sint Maarten. The Dutch are fed up now trying to avoid a society split-up against their one-sided regime.
As Governor, De Kort will be the head of the government of Curaçao and will represent the Dutch King. He will also act as the go-through link between the island and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. After his first term, he may be reappointed for a maximum of six years.
