As a part of Hispanic Heritage Month, Accent Dance NYC can hardly wait to bring the sounds and steps of Latin dance to the schools of New York City this fall. The nonprofit company will be performing a spectacular showcase of a variety of Latin dances, such as tango, salsa, merengue, bachata, and cumbia, from September 19 to October 14, 2025, in order to highlight and teach the young minds about the rich culture of Latin America.
Accent Dance NYC performs these dances to promote these traditions and pass them to newer generations of New Yorkers and, in a wider scope, the American society. September 15 to October 15 is the period called Hispanic Heritage Month, during which the immense influence of the Hispanic and Latinx population to the America’s culture, arts, and history is greatly appreciated. This is a unique opportunity to teach the children about the Hispanic culture, made possible by connecting dance to educational programs.

Every performance will not only showcase some of the most cherished forms of dance from Latin America, such as vibrant salsa and the passionate tango. These dances do not simply involve moving to the rhythm of the music, each dance is a story of a community, a history, and a set of traditions that together contribute the rich culture of the Americas.
Integrating Dance with Culture
Accent Dance NYC performers will share the culture behind the movements and music and explain the technique of every dance step. For example, pupils understand the passionate longing of Buenos Aires’ streets embodied in the Tango and the Salsa that invokes Caribbean social dances.
Accent Dance NYC will give students the chance to bust a move with the same dancers as part of the additional workshops. These workshops aim to engage students by allowing them to participate in active learning that culminates in culture appreciation beyond the frame.
Accent Dance NYC performers and students will give and receive the value of the Latin dances in appreciation to their culture, as well as knowledge of the traditions from the Spanish speaking countries.
*The wonderful achievements and milestones of Accent Dance NYC as a nonprofit organization has been celebrated thouroughly over a decade. Since previous years, over 10,000 attended students and participants during the month of hispanic heritage and the month of hispanic heritage also marked a record of over double awarded during the previous academic years. The astounding growth shows a huge need and demand for programs and classes that educate students about the value of culture and the importance of the arts. *
*The company has public charity status granted by the IRS, which has greatly been attributed to the growth of the company. The status has unlocked public funding for the organization. Accent Dance NYC does not solely celebrate financial growth, they are expanding impact and value by reaching a greater deal of students for educational programs that are diverse and celebrate inclusivity. *
This milestone has been greatly anticipated and the public charity status has been a motivator to work harder for all the years devoted to culture, arts, and social education for students. The efforts of supporters, patrons, and donors of the company has all paid off to sustain and prove the center of Accent Dance NYC. The organization can keep expanding the impact and also sustain the astonishing quality of th content delivered.
