The funeral service for the slain conservative commentator Charlie Kirk has been arranged and will take place in his home state of Arizona. The memorial is expected to draw thousands of mourners, political allies, and media outlets from across the country. Here is what we know about when it will take place, how the public can attend, and how to watch the event from home.
Kirk’s funeral service will take place on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, home of the NFL’s Arizona Cardinals, with doors set to open for the public at 8:00 am MST, and the program will begin at 11:00 am MST. State Farm Stadium has outlined the entry procedures, noting that parking lots will open at 7:00 a.m. and security checkpoints will include magnetometers.
Secret Service spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi announced that “Joint security planning is underway for the memorial and funeral of Charlie Kirk and appropriate public safety related information will be provided as the process matures in the coming days.”
Attendance at the memorial is open to the public and free of charge. However, registration is required in advance. Seating will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, and those who plan to attend have been urged to arrive early due to security checks and the expected high turnout.
State Farm Stadium has put in place strict security protocols for the event. Entry will include magnetometer screenings, and only clear bags are allowed. Acceptable bags include transparent totes no larger than 12 by 6 by 12 inches or a one-gallon freezer-style plastic bag. Backpacks, professional cameras, signs, food, and drinks from outside the venue will not be permitted.
These rules mirror the policies enforced at NFL games and other high-capacity events at the stadium. CNN described the event as a “major test to the Secret Service,” as President Donald Trump will be in attendance, and the stadium has a maximum capacity of 63,400 people.
Jonathan Wackrow, a former Secret Service agent, told the news network that “This location may be seen as an attractive target for a hostile actor because of its visibility. The potential for it to be disrupted through a series of different threats, or even the threat of a threat, is something that law enforcement really has to focus in on and then put the mitigation protocols in place now.”
State Farm Stadium, located just west of Phoenix, has hosted major events such as the Super Bowl, NCAA championships, and large-scale concerts. The venue’s 63,400-seat capacity makes it one of the few arenas in the region capable of accommodating the anticipated turnout for Kirk’s funeral.
For those unable to travel to Glendale, there will be options to watch the service remotely. While organizers have not announced a single, centralized livestream, several outlets have confirmed coverage. NBC5 Chicago reported that national and local news stations are preparing to broadcast the event. In Arizona, ABC15 and NBC12 have already announced plans to air the service on television and stream it online through their digital platforms.
