Kirk was on stage for a debate organized by Turning Point USA at Utah Valley University. In the days leading up to his appearance, an online petition urging university leaders to block Kirk from attending drew nearly 1,000 signatures.
Administrators responded with a public statement last week, citing the protections of the First Amendment and underscoring the school’s “commitment to free speech, intellectual inquiry, and constructive dialogue.”
